Scent Detection

Curious at how dogs can be trained to locate drugs and explosives? Ready to unleash your dog’s superpower to track target scents and find hidden objects? You and your dog will have tons of fun while learning a new skill. It is great mental stimulation for your dog and you get to observe how incredible your dog’s nose is.

In this class, you will learn the basics of scent detection. Using science-based methods, you will learn how to teach your dog to search for, locate and alert at the source of a specific scent. Once he has mastered the basics, expand his capabilities by having him search for hidden items all around your home, your friend’s home or the neighbourhood park!

Who is it for?

For all dogs (recommended 6 months old and up). For owners who want to enhance the partnership with their dog and learn a new skill together while having fun. Dogs should have no major aggression issues.

What is it?

Six group training sessions held weekly at a fixed location. Trainer will teach owners how to teach and train their respective dogs. Owners are expected to practise the assigned exercises. The trainer will monitor the class' progress and tailor each session to the needs of the class.

Each class will be kept small with no more than four dogs.

How much is it?

$600 in total for six group training sessions. Training sessions are held once per week unless informed otherwise and last for an hour. Required training equipment is not included.
